Our Work

SEAMLESS 8.png

We employ a participatory model which empowers our girls to take the lead in guiding our work. Our core programs are shaped around the girls' self-identified needs and are complemented by unique opportunities to broaden their horizons.

Our girls are accompanied by the resource personnel at the community centre, who provide one-on-one support, ensuring that each girl receives guidance suited to her individual journey.

We offer two main program streams:

Personal well-being and development:

These are educational sessions covering topics that are essential for well-rounded growth, but which girls in Teshie do not often have access to. So far, we have offered sessions on reproductive health, life skills, digital literacy, and basic sewing skills.

We also collaborate with schoolteachers to offer the girls extra classes in specific subjects.

Creativity and sports:

Our girls have boundless energy and a deep well of creativity. We have collaborated with other grassroots organisations and the feminist community to offer art, skate and dance lessons that let them tap into their playful and creative sides.

We also organise excursions outside of Teshie to visit monuments, experience art, and explore nature. The possibilities are endless!
